Sumac Frame

Tonight's sunset framed by Staghorn Sumac and a few grapevines.  I always thought sumac was somewhat exotic looking.  I recently learned that it is a member of the cashew family.

Black Swan on Lake Erie

A Black Swan in the Dunkirk NY harbor is way out of it's natural range (Australia & New Zealand).  It may have escaped from captivity somewhere but I did see it in flight and saw no leg bands.  Exotic birds such as this and kept in captivity usually have leg bands.
