This is the longest full moon of the year! It will be visible for a total of 15 hours and 33 minutes from Saturday night through Sunday morning. The December full moon is usually know as the "Cold" moon or the "Long Night" moon. It was at 96% when this photo was taken.

Juvenile Glaucous Gull
The Glaucous Gull is a large pale bird from the Arctic. Many of them spend their winters on the Great Lakes. This individual is a juvenile about to experience its first winter along Lake Erie. They are the second largest species of gull in the world.
