Evening Grosbeak Irruption
A flock of seven Evening Grosbeak has been visiting my sunflower feeders for the past four days. They are not commonly seen in this area and it is the first time I've seen them here in over 10 years.

Golden-crowned Kinglet
These little guys are barely larger than a hummingbird and flit around nearly as fast. Large numbers of them migrate through our area every year in late October through mid-November.

Evening Grosbeaks!!!
These aren't the best photos because I took them in the rain, but I haven't seen Evening Grosbeaks in years and was thrilled to see some show up at my bird feeders today! I really hope they remain through the winter. I recently read that this is an irruption year for them and here they are!

Dark-eyed Junco
He seems to be announcing, "We're baaaack!" A flock of Dark-eyed Juncos descended on my bird feeders this weekend. They most likely spent their summer in Canada and will winter here on the south side of the Great Lakes.
